Gospel choir Spirit of Love
Gospelchoir Spirit of Love from Tegelen (the Netherlands) was established on 1 july 2001.
In 2011, we hope to celebrate our 2nd lustrum.
The gospelchoir is conducted by Bert van Dijk and there are approximately 18 members.
The repertoire mainly consists of a lot of gospels and negrospirituals such as:
Oh happy day, Swing low sweet chariot, Kumbayah, This little light, I will follow him, the rose, Halllelujah etc.
Most of the songs are swinging, exuberant, but sometimes also quiet, probing. Some numbers get support from guitar, djembee or trumpet. Individual input is very important to get a unique implementation of a number.
The choir is characterised by an enormous enthusiasm and effort, where pleasure in singing is the main thing.
The gospelchoir has given two concerts in it short existence.The choir also performs during, among other things, wedding celebrations, confirmation celebrations, Christmas celebrations, special and regular Eucharist celebrations, companyevents, local streetconcerts and Women's institute.
Rehearsals take place every Monday evening from 20.00 hrs till 22.00 hrs in de Muziekschool Tegelen, ingang De Haandert, Haandertstraat 6-8, 5932 CN Tegelen.
